Day of fun – 2009 World Tour Progress Report

[Original post by Elliot Mogerman – Transferred from yahoogroups.com]

So we woke up at 7am and got our bikes ready for the storage yard at customs control. While riding there we lost mike. Turns out his bike stopped working and we had to drop off mine, and go back, find him, and tow his bike later on. So now both bikes are crapped out. But mike’s should be a quick fix, maybe a fuel filter, or pump. But still funny. We met a biker from Alabama who also dropped off his bike and is touring the world on a 25 year old harley which works and will not stop giving us shit about it. Also, when we towed mikes bike, the four of us sat in front of this small truck and I got to sit on Mike’s lap. Enough about that story.

So we drop off the bikes around 11am and were told to come back and meet the inspector at 2pm. We eat some fatty shashlik and have some yummy ice cream and meet the inspector around 2:30. Then we follow him to the customs office. We get our paperwork completed and finally get out of there around 6pm. This is because the one lady in the whole building can only do motorbikes and she wanted to take a break from 4-5:30 pm. It’s russia baby! Might go see some live music tonight. Will let you know.
